The wires have been alive this morning about the UK release of the Samsung Galaxy S3 after a mobile phones retailer put up a massive window display in their Oxford Street store with Samsung emblazoned across it, the trademark product launch curtains either side and text saying: Coming 30.03.12. (That’s Friday!)
Many were wondering if this Phones4U stunt was the official release date for the Samsung Galaxy S3 but it was highly unlikely since Samsung have already confirmed that they will be announcing a dedicated launch event (probably in London and Olympic themed) via Twitter, since nothing has been heard from the manufacturer it would be impossible to get stocks of a non-announced model into high street stores that quick.

Some rumours were pointing out that Phones 4 U were the first independent retailer to launch the Samsung Galaxy Nexus but this was well after Vodafone’s exclusive launch period, other claimed that this was merely an advertising campaign for the official unveiling of the Galaxy SIII whilst other clever clogs decided it must be for another new handset launch like the Samsung Galaxy Beam, Galaxy Pocket or the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet …. but no, we now know why …..
Phones 4 U are simply installed a dedicated Samsung area in their high street store, that’s it! Nothing more, nothing less ….. sorry to those waiting with as much enthusiasm as we are to get our hands on the new ‘super phone’, it seems we’ll all have to wait a little longer.
